St. Ignatius

Dear Alumni,

We are pleased that we have connected with so many of you for the past three months with the new Wildcat Alumni Network (WAN). We have created twelve videos and your response to them has been amazing. Thank you for your support.

We are lucky to have one of the greatest alumni associations of any high school in the country. We are an alumni network of friends, classmates, and Wildcats—and we will be gathering as soon as we can to share laughs and smiles no matter what our age or background. We are SI!

Please mark Monday, Sept. 21, on your calendar as we fire up the SI Golf Tournament at Lake Merced Golf and Country Club. There will also be an option to participate for non-golfers for the post tournament so all are invited. We need it, too.

We are going to take a short break and begin planning for the next school year. You can count on more Wildcat Alumni Network videos coming in August and beyond.

For now, please enjoy this new video about Peter Devine. Theater has been a jewel in the crown of St. Ignatius since the beginning and Peter has spent almost three decades building one of the great high school performing arts programs anywhere.

We are lucky to have many talented and dedicated faculty here at SI and Peter Devine is among the best. His almost 50 years of service are reasons why SI is such a special school.

Enjoy the summer, stay safe and keep well. Better times are ahead.

Sincerely,

Tom Hsieh '83
Director of Alumni Relations

The SI Alumni Department is actively working on digital products to share with alumni and friends as a way to stay in touch, lift spirits, and engage at a time when we cannot otherwise do so. Now we are launching Wildcat Alumni Network, a collection of stories from our deep library of SI history.

Curt Mallegni '67 Honored with Christ the King Award

The SI Alumni Board recently met and selected this year's recipient of the Christ the King Award.

The Christ the King Award honors SI alumni "who have distinguished themselves in their professions, who have shown a commitment to the SI community and who best exemplify the ideal of service to God and fellow man."

Curt Mallegni of the Class of 1967 was such a man and is a well-deserving recipient. Curt passed away on January 28, 2020, after a short illness. He was 70 years old. He is only the fifth recipient to receive the award posthumously since the award originated in 1960. His wife Kathy will receive the award in his honor.

Here is a story about Curt Mallegni's wonderful life and great contributions to SI in Genesis by Paul Totah.

For more than three decades, the Annual Fund has been cornerstone of SI’s financial security. It doesn't take a huge donation to have a big impact. When taken together, gifts to SI's Annual Fund, whether $25 or $25,000, create one of the school's most significant sources of support.
